The Read-at-Home-Mom Report: May 2019

May went by so quickly, but I did squeeze in quite a bit of reading. In addition to all the books listed below, I also read half of Middlemarch by George Eliot, which I'm looking forward to finishing in June, along with my re-read of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I slowed down quite a bit on picture books this month, too, which was a nice change of pace. Here's my report.

  1. Lots of good books here, Katie. I have some of them, now need to read them, too! I was glad to see your review of Meet Me At The Museum, on my list!

  2. I didn't know that Martin had so many Doll books--I only knew about the first one, so thank you for sharing!
    Happy reading this week :)

  3. So many delicious sounding books on your list here! I went to put a hold on A Dream Within a Dream only to discover that I have reached the maximum holds allowable! This is a first for me!

  4. I appreciated getting to read your review of Dream Within a Dream. I really liked the cover, but wasn't sure on the story. And I was disappointed to hear about The Good Neighbor: The Life and Work of Fred Rogers. I am so glad I grew up getting to watch Mr. Roger's every day and I sobbed my way through Won't You Be My Neighbor (which was very insightful with all the commentary from cast members and family members who shared information I never would have known, otherwise). In any case, I think this is one I was pass on. Have a great reading month, Katie!

  6. I think I own a copy of the Doll People series - but have not gotten around to reading them yet. Thanks for the subtle nudge - and yes, so many great books you shared this week!
Have a great reading weekend ahead of you!

  7. You sure had good variety of reading during May. I liked Little Fires Everywhere on audio, I think it held my interest that way more than if I had read it. I liked Meet Me at the Museum, a little different but interesting all the same.
